'Rio Eider' Schifffahrtsges. mbH & Co. KG c/o Ahrekiel Steamship GmbH & Co. KG Case Settles for $3,000

“Rio Eider” Schiffahrtsgessellschaft m.b.H & Co. KG paid $3,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Resources Board, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on October 20, 2014. An investigation by the ARB showed that the vessel Rio Eider, failed to operate on compliant distillate fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters in April of 2014. “Rio Eider” Schiffahrtsgessellschaft m.b.H & Co. KG took prompt action after being notified of these violations and under ARB’s supervision began operating in a compliant fashion. To settle the case, “Rio Eider” Schiffahrtsgessellschaft m.b.H & Co. KG agreed to the $3,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
