The Savogran Company Case Settles for $6,700
On August 6, 2015, a case was settled with the Savogran Company for selling/manufacturing “Savogran Water Rinsing Kwikeeze” subject to the VOC limit for the Multi-Purpose Solvent category, title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The products contained concentrations of VOC’s exceeding the 30 percent by weight VOC limit for the category. In addition, the product contained Methylene Chloride (16.9% by weight) which is a prohibited ingredient (Section 94509(m)), and 51% Toluene, an aromatic compound subject to a 1% limit (Section 94509(p)). Excess emissions in this case were approximately 0.14 tons VOC; 0.04 tons TAC; and 0.2 tons aromatic compounds. The company paid $6,700.00 to settle the case.
