Save Mart Supermarkets Case Settles for $150,000

Save Mart Supermarkets Incorporated (Save Mart) operates a chain of retail food stores. ED received a referral from the Research Division (RD) that Save Mart had not registered or filed the required annual reports for 24 facilities, as required by the Regulation for the Management of High Global Warming Potential Refrigerants for Stationary Sources. During the investigation ED discovered that these 24 facilities did not have the required automatic leak detection systems. In consultation with RD and ARB’s Legal Office, a settlement in principle of $150,000 has been reached.
