Savage Sand Cars Case Settles for $5,000

During our ongoing investigation into the sale and use of non-California cerfified Off-Highway Recreational Vehicles (OHRV), staff for the Mobile Source Enforcement Section discovered Savage Sand Cars, located in Highland, California, offered for sale and sold to a California resident one illegal non-California certified sand car.  This is a violation of California Health and Safety Code Section 43150 through 43153.  A representative of Savage Sand Cars is paying into the Air Pollution Control fund $5,000 in penalties to settle these violations.  This settlement was reached in September 2009.
