Safeway, Inc. Settlement
Safeway, Inc. Case Settles for $17,800
Between October 2012 and April 2013, Safeway, Inc. supplied a non-compliant automotive windshield washer fluid product in California that was in violation of VOC limits contained in ARB’s Consumer Product Regulations for both mountainous and non-mountainous areas of the state. The sale of the product resulted in 1.27 tons of excess VOC emissions. Safeway has since stopped selling the product and revised their product block system to prevent manual overrides and block future sale of non-compliant consumer products. The case was settled on April 29, 2014 for $17,800.
