Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. Case Settles for $9,200

The Consumer Products Regulation section 94512(c)(1) requires that an explanation of the date code used by manufacturers be provided to ARB on an annual basis.  Without an explanation, staff cannot determine when the product was made and what volatile organic compound (VOC) limit applies.  No explanation for the multiple date codes used by Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. on their products was ever provided to ARB.  After finally receiving the explanation, staff was able to determine that the products complied with the applicable VOC content limits.  The case was settled on April 5, 2009 for $9,200.
