Rust-Oleum Corporation Case Settles for $5,200

Between September 2011 and September 2014, the Rust-Oleum Corporation manufactured for sale in California their Rust-Oleum Heavy Duty Degreaser product that was in violation of 10% VOC limit for aerosol General Purpose Degreaser products. The product was not supposed to be sold to consumers in California. The company immediately ceased sale of the non-compliant product. Total sales of the product was minimal. Approximately 310 pounds of excess emissions resulted from the violation. The case was settled on January 29, 2015 for $5,200.
