Roly’s Trucking Inc. Case Settles for $58,000.00
In September 2013, Roly’s Trucking Inc. agreed to pay $58,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $43,500.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $14,500.00 will go to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Roly’s Trucking Inc. failed to have 30% of their heavy-duty diesel vehicle fleet meet PM BACT requirements by January 1, 2012 and to have 60% meet PM BACT requirements by January 1, 2013, a violation of the Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Roly’s Trucking Inc. agreed to the $58,000.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus Regulation and other ARB programs.
