California Air Resources Board

Under the LCFS regulation, the Electrical Distribution Utilities (EDUs) that opted into the LCFS program are required to use their LCFS credit proceeds to benefit current or future Electric Vehicle (EV) customers. The California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) also directs the investor-owned electric and natural gas utilities to allocate the LCFS revenue to their customers. These LCFS rebate programs are in addition to the existing state and federal EV incentives.

Following is a list of current utility rebate programs:

• Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) - Clean Fuel Rebate
  • Residential EV Customers
  • Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Customers
• Southern California Edison (SCE) - Clean Fuel Rewards
• San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) - Electric Vehicle Climate Credit
• Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) - Drive Electric Incentive
