Ramiro G. Cabrera Case Settles for $28,500
Ramiro G. Cabrera will pay $28,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $21,375.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $7,125.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in May, 2016.
An investigation was conducted by the Air Resources Board (ARB) after four citations were written against Mr. Cabrera’s truck fleet. The investigation determined that Ramiro G. Cabrera failed to bring five (5) of his heavy duty diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus regulation. To settle the case, Ramiro G. Cabrera agreed to the $28,500.00 penalty and to comply with the Truck and Bus and other regulations.
