Potigian Transfer, Inc. Case Settles for $4,875
Potigian Transfer, Inc. paid $4,875.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $3,656.25.00 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $1,218.75 to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in May 2012.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Potigian Transfer, Inc. failed to comply with the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) by not smoke testing diesel vehicles in its fleet. To settle the case, Potigian Transfer, Inc. agreed to the $4,875.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and all other applicable ARB rules.
