Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. provides waste and recycling services in Pleasanton, California. In August 2011, Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. agreed to pay $9,200 in penalties; $6,900 to the California Air Pollution Control Fund and $2,300 to the Peralta Community College District for violating air quality regulations. An investigation by the ARB showed that Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. failed to comply with the solid waste collection vehicle rule by neglecting to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. ARB documented violations as they related to the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle Program (SWCV). To settle the case Pleasanton Garbage Service, Inc. agreed to the $9,200 penalty and to comply with the SWCV program in addition to other ARB programs.
