Pilot Travel Centers LLC Case Settles for $60,000

Pilot Travel Centers, based in Tennessee, supplies transportation fuels subject to Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reporting Regulation, Cal. Code of Regulations, title 17, § 95100 et seq. (MRR). Pilot initially misunderstood its reporting duty, but upon realizing its error promptly came forward to report. Pilot agreed to pay a penalty of $60,000 based on $600 per day x 100 days. In addition to the penalty, Pilot submitted a monitoring plan that includes additional procedures to avoid future late reporting.
