Peninsula Debris Box Service, LLC Case Settles for $7,000.00
In June 2013, Peninsula Debris Box Service, LLC (PDBS), based in San Mateo, agreed to pay $7,000 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,250.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,750.00 will go to Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that PDBS failed to comply with the Solid Waste Collection Vehicle (SWCV) rule by neglecting to install legally required emission reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. ARB documented violations as they related to the SWCV regulation. To settle the case, PDBS agreed to the $7,000 penalty and to comply with the SWCV programs.
