Pearl Maritime Inc. Case Settles for $1,000
Pearl Maritime Inc. has paid $1,000.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations. This settlement was reached on May 3, 2011. An investigation by the ARB showed that the Pearl Maritime Inc. vessel, Brazilian Reefer, failed to properly complete switchover for its engines from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel before entry into Regulated California Waters. To settle the case, Pearl Maritime Inc. agreed to the $1,000.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
