Orange Coast Chrysler Case Settles for $4,000
In July 2011, the ARB reached a settlement with Orange Coast Chrysler that included a $4,000 penalty to the California Air Pollution Fund for marketing and offering for sale of modified engines in California without receiving an ARB Executive Order. An investigation by the ARB showed that between August 30, 2010 and February 28, 2011, Orange Coast Chrysler marketed and offered for sale new MY2010 Dodge Challengers (under 7,500 odometer miles) for use or registration in California. The modifications to the new MY2010 vehicles render them uncertified and illegal for sale in California and are in violation of Health and Safety Code sections 43151 through 43153. The case settled in July 2011, for Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000).
