Back to California Clean Construction home page
The California Clean Construction program allows awarding bodies to add additional conditions specific to their project. For example, an awarding body could require all non-zero emission off-road construction diesel-fueled equipment to have engines certified to current Tier 4 Final emission standards using diesel particulate filters which is the cleanest possible technology for internal combustion engine particulate matter emissions control.
This optional resource tool may be beneficial to projects that elect to go above and beyond the conditions of the California Clean Construction program guidance in reducing emissions from the remaining internal combustion fueled off-road construction project equipment. This tool is not mandatory nor is it the only method by which a project can implement project equipment certified as Tier 4 Final with diesel particulate filters.
The document below describes an example pathway for determining if a piece of equipment is equipped with a diesel particulate filter.
