Omega Distributors, Inc., a secondary distributor of personal care products, sold two hairspray products that exceeded the volatile organic compound standard of 55 percent to retail store chains. These products were found at various locations in Northern California in violation of the California Consumer Products Regulation. After a thorough investigation, this case was settled by the Consumer Products Enforcement staff for a total of $7,000 in penalties on March 20, 2006.
