Ron and Char Enterprises Inc. Case Settles for $1,875
Ron and Char Enterprises Inc. has agreed to pay $1,875.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $1,406 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund and $469 will be paid to the Peralta College foundation for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in April 2015.
A routine investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Ron and Char Enterprises Inc., failed to test and maintain records of smoke emissions from its fleet of heavy-duty diesel vehicles for years 2013 and 2014 in violation of the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP). In addition, Ron and Char Enterprises Inc. failed to timely report all required information for all vehicles in the fleet for which the owner has elected to utilize the small fleet compliance option in accordance with the Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation. To settle the case, Ron and Char Enterprises Inc. has agreed to the $1,875.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, Statewide Truck and Bus regulation, and other ARB applicable regulations.
