Taylor Farms California Case Settles for $10,000
Taylor Farms California paid $10,000.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $7,500.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,500.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in May 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Taylor Farms California failed to bring their Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) into compliance by the deadlines set forth in the TRU Air Control Toxic Measure (ATCM). ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU regulation. To settle the case, Taylor Farms California agreed to the $10,000.00 penalty and to comply with the TRU regulation and all applicable ARB programs.
