All-Ways Express Co. Case Settles for $2,250
All-Ways Express Co. paid $2,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $1,687.00 went to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $563.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in July 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that All-Ways Express Co. failed to submit a complete and correct Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU) Operator Report, and failed to correctly register their TRUs in ARB’s Equipment Registration system (ARBER) for nine of their TRUs. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure. To settle the case, All-Ways Express Co. agreed to the $2,250.00 penalty and to comply with TRU and other ARB programs.
