CARB’s research on sustainable communities, housing, and transportation supports implementation of Senate Bill (SB) 375 (Steinberg, Stats. of 2008, Ch. 728) through work on target-setting, Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS) guidelines, and SB 150 reports. These projects provide data, modeling, and case studies that inform policy decisions and guide Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and other agencies in meeting the State’s climate goals. The research helps identify effective local strategies, assess policy impacts, address disparities, and improve implementation.
