California Air Resources Board

The SEP program is a voluntary program for violators who may choose to fund one or more SEPs with up to 50% of their penalty fees during the enforcement case settlement process. Availability of funding is not guaranteed and the amount of funding available from each settlement may vary.

CARB accepts SEP proposals year-round and updates the available SEPs list with approved SEP proposals twice a year. SEP proposals remain on the available list until they are selected for full or partial funding through settlements of enforcement action at CARB.

To apply for funding through CARB's SEP Program, complete the SEP proposal form and budget template linked below. Email the completed forms along with any attachments to SEP@arb.ca.gov
