NightCrawler Transport LLC Settlement
NightCrawler Transport LLC Case Settles for $3,675
In January 2015, NightCrawler Transport LLC paid $3,675.00 for violating air quality regulations: $2,756.00 was paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $919.00 was paid to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that NightCrawler Transport LLC failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards as required by the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP); and failed to properly affix the ARB IDN to both sides of one of its Transport Refrigeration Units (TRUs) within 30 days of receiving the number from ARB as required by the TRU Regulation. To settle the case, NightCrawler Transport LLC agreed to the $3,675.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TRU, and other ARB programs.
