Zero-Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Hearing

SACRAMENTO –The California Air Resources Board (ARB) will consider amendments to its zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) rules which require manufacturers to offer for sale zero- and near-zero emitting vehicles in California:
Thursday and Friday
March 27 28
Cal/EPA Headquarters
Central Valley Auditorium
1001 I Street, 2nd Floor
Sacramento, California
The hearing will cover proposed modifications to the rule, which can be reviewed here.
Californias motor vehicle rules are the most progressive in the world, reducing auto emissions by more than 95 percent in the last 30 years. Since its adoption in 1990, the ARBs ZEV rule has pushed motor vehicle emissions technology toward non-polluting alternatives. Because motor vehicle emissions still account for more than 50 percent of California smog, clean vehicles are a major component in reaching the states clean air goals.
An audio webcast of the meeting will be available here.
