SACRAMENTO – The California Air Resources Board (ARB) next week will convene its Advisory Committee meeting to address further reductions of Toxic Air Contaminants (TAC) from diesel-fueled engines. Details are as follows:
Advisory Committee Meeting
Thursday, October 29, 1998
9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Sacramento Convention Center
1412 K Street
Sacramento, CA 95814
The ARB is complying with a comprehensive two-phase public process to address TAC's. The two phases are known as identification and control. ARB's August 1998 decision to identify particulate emissions from diesel as a TAC triggers a public meeting to start the control, or Risk Management, phase.
This initial organizational meeting will address such matters as: participation, sub-committees, format, and a time schedule for future meetings. The working group will consist of interested persons from industry, environmental and health groups, the public and government agencies.
