SACRAMENTO– Clean Air Month is underway and to draw attention to air quality as an everyday challenge, the California Air Resources Board (ARB) has renewed its toll-free air quality outlook telephone line to help Sacramento area residents plan their day.
The information line can be accessed by dialing the following toll-free telephone number:
1-888-BURN-788
(1-888-2876-788)
The line may be particularly useful for people who work or exercise outdoors, seniors, children and those with health conditions that may become worse when exposed to some air pollutants. The outlook will be based on ozone and visibility levels and may include factors that affect local air quality, including forest fires, controlled agricultural burns and other meteorological conditions.
The outlook is provided by the ARB in cooperation with Sacramento Valley air pollution control districts, whose telephone numbers are listed on the recording. The message is updated daily and coincides with the spring agricultural burn season.
