PASADENA – As many as seven light-duty passenger vehicles powered by methanol, compressed natural gas and electricity will be on parking lot F of the Rose Bowl for test drives and photograph opportunities by automotive and environmental writers on Friday, June 14 between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
The test drives are being offered as part of the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Test Clinic sponsored by the University of California, Davis Institute of Transportation Studies. The clinic is being conducted to better acquaint as many as 300 Southern California residents with the driving and refueling characteristics of alternative fuel powered vehicles. Those vehicles are likely to be available in the near future, as a result of Air Resources Board (ARB) low emission rules.
Also available will be ARB and institute experts on alternative fuel vehicles and transportation to answer questions about the vehicles and their likely effect on the driving habits of Southern Californians.
To reach the Rose Bowl, take the Seco Drive exit from Interstate 210 and proceed west into Brookside Park until it intersects Arroyo Blvd., proceed north on Arroyo until you reach the Rose Bowl.
