SACRAMENTO– State air pollution inspectors will lead a multi-agency task force Tuesday to inspect big rig diesel trucks just off the Interstate 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley's Sun Valley area.

The California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board will work with the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Police Department on the truck inspections. The three agencies will be looking for excess smoke, hazardous materials and other safety and mechanical violations.
CARB's mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy. The CARB oversees all air pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain health based air quality standards.
