AUBURN -- The California Environmental Protection Agency's Air Resources Board will hold a workshop to discuss its plan to address residential waste burning.

The workshop discussions will cover public health impacts and a proposal to prohibit the outdoor burning of residential waste materials other than natural vegetation, as well as eliminate the use of Burn barrels.
CARB's mission is to promote and protect public health, welfare, and ecological resources through effective reduction of air pollutants while recognizing and considering effects on the economy. The CARB oversees all air pollution control efforts in California to attain and maintain health based air quality standards.
