The California Air Resources Board's Low Emission Vehicle/Clean Fuels Program has been recognized for the second time in four years by being added to Renew America's Environmental Success Index.
Each year the Renew America Index includes program information on about 1,600 of the nation's best environmental programs. That information is then available for government agencies, private companies, environmental organizations and civic groups to use to start similar programs in their own communities.
As part of this year's Renew America awards program, scheduled for January 31 in San Francisco, James D. Boyd, ARB executive officer will discuss "Clean Air and the Economy - California's Promising Future." Mr. Boyd will deliver his message prior to a national teleconference entitled, "Jobs and the Environment: A National Town Meeting."
"This marks the second time that the ARB's Low Emission Vehicle program has received national recognition from Renew America for its outstanding achievements," Boyd noted.
"Our Low Emission Vehicle Program with its world recognized electric vehicle standard was awarded the same honor in Renew America's 1992 Index," Boyd added.
