Mr. Brands, LLC Settles For $9,000
In September 2026, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Mr. Brands, LLC (Mr. Brands), with its principal location in Bristol, Pennsylvania, for the company’s violation of the Regulation for Reducing Emissions from Consumer Products (Consumer Products Regulation), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 17, section 94507 et seq.
An investigation conducted by CARB Enforcement Division staff showed that Mr. Brands sold, supplied, offered for sale, or manufactured for use in California, a General Purpose Cleaner (non aerosol) and a Tire or Wheel Cleaner (non aerosol) that failed to display their dates of manufacture; and also sold, supplied, or offered for sale in California a Tire or Wheel Cleaner (non aerosol) that utilized a code to represent the date of manufacture, but the company failed to provide an explanation of the code annually to CARB. To settle the case, Mr. Brands agreed to a total settlement amount of $9,000.
Mr. Brands cooperated fully with CARB to resolve this matter. To come into compliance, the company met the date code administrative requirements for the products in violation, and agreed to ensure their products display the date of manufacture going forward. The total penalty amount will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality.
