Mountain Materials Inc. Settlement
Mountain Materials Inc. Case Settles for $1,500.00
In November 2012, Mountain Materials, Inc. agreed to pay $1,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $1,125.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $375.00 will go to Peralta Community College District to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Mountain Materials, Inc. failed to retrofit two vehicles with PM filters as required by the Statewide Truck and Bus Regulation per the model year compliance schedule. ARB documented violations as they related to the Statewide Truck and Bus (STB) regulation. To settle the case, Mountain Materials, Inc. agreed to the $1,500.00 penalty and to comply with the STB regulation and other ARB programs.
