Miratech Group, LLC Settles For $275,000
In August 2025, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Miratech Group, LLC (also known as Miratech Corporation) (“Miratech”), with its principal location in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the company’s violation of the Verification Procedure, Warranty and in-Use Compliance Requirements for In-Use Strategies to Control Emissions from Diesel Engines (Verification Procedure), as codified in the California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2700-2711.
An investigation conducted by CARB staff showed that Miratech failed to meet the In-Use compliance testing requirements of the Verification Procedure. Additionally, Miratech sold 53 CARB-Verified LTR systems outside the terms of their previous Executive Order, which only covered specific engine families up to model year 2021, and sold another 105 LTR systems that were misrepresented as "CARB-Verified" for use with model year 2022 and 2023 engine families that were not covered under the previous Executive Order.
To settle the case, Miratech agreed to a penalty of $275,000. Of the total amount, $137,500 in civil penalty will be deposited into CARB’s Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California’s air quality. The remaining amount of $137,500 will fund the Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) entitled El Sol Environmental Community Health Worker Learning HUB, with El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center. This SEP involves expanding a digital Learning Hub that equips Community Health Workers and community organizations with training and resources on climate change, environmental health, and community capacity building.
Miratech fully cooperated with CARB to resolve this matter.
