The Mirande Company, Inc. Case Settles for $23,100
The Mirande Company, Inc. has agreed to pay $23,100 in penalties for violating air quality regulations; $17,325 will be paid to the Air Pollution Control Fund and $5,775 will be paid to the Peralta Community College District for distribution to participating California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) colleges. This settlement was reached in August 2015.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that The Mirande Company, Inc., failed to test and maintain records of smoke emissions from its fleet of heavy-duty diesel vehicles for years 2013 and 2014 in violation of the PSIP. In addition, The Mirande Company, Inc. failed to include the Disclosure of Regulation Applicability on the bill of sales, contract addendums, or invoices, in violation of 13 CCR § 2025(w).
To settle the case, The Mirande Company, Inc. has agreed to the $23,100 penalty and to comply with the Drayage Truck regulation, PSIP and other ARB applicable regulations.
