Midland International USA Case Settles for $33,500
In June, 2014 Midland International USA agreed to pay $33,500.00 in penalties for violating Small Off-Road Engine Regulations. Routine inspections by Enforcement Division field staff discovered electrical generators lacking proper engine labels being offered for sale in several Costco stores in California. An investigation revealed that these generators were all imported by Midland International USA, and the engines were found to be uncertified by ARB. California Code of Regulations, Title 13, section 2400 requires that small off-road engines sold in California be covered by an ARB Executive Order. Midland agreed to settle this case for the sale and offering for sale of uncertified and mislabeled small off-road engines for $33,500.00
