Marvin E. Wright Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $17,100
Marvin E. Wright Trucking, Inc. will pay $17,100.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $12,825.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $4,275.00 will go to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program. This settlement was reached in January 2016.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Marvin E. Wright Trucking, Inc. failed to bring eight of their heavy-duty diesel trucks into compliance with the diesel particulate matter best available control technology requirements and failed to bring their Transport Refrigeration Units (TRU) into compliance by the deadlines set forth in the TRU Air Toxic Control Measure. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure, and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Marvin E. Wright Trucking, Inc. agreed to the $17,100.00 penalty and to comply with TRU, TB, and other ARB programs.
