Marukai Corporation Case Settles for $10,000

On June 18, 2014, a case was settled with Marukai Corporation for importing and selling a Hair Gel product and air freshener products (three fragrance variations) that exceeded the VOC limits to those respective consumer product categories in Title 17, California Code of Regulations, section 94509(a). The combined VOC violations contributed approximately 31 pounds of excess VOC emissions. In addition, Marukai Corporation failed to file a date code explanation with ARB as required per section 94512 (c) of Title 17, California Code of Regulations. The companies paid $10,000 to settle the case.
