Marquez Brothers International, Inc. Case Settles for $48,250
Marquez Brothers International, Inc. will pay $48,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $48,250.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in August, 2016.
An investigation was conducted by the Air Resources Board (ARB) after multiple citations were written against Marquez Brothers International, Inc. The investigation revealed that the San Jose fleet of Marquez Brothers International, Inc. failed to bring fifteen (15) of their heavy duty diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation.
Marquez Brothers International, Inc. is engaged in the production and distribution of Mexican style dairy products, meat items, and canned and dry goods. Marquez Brothers was previously audited and cited for PSIP, ECL and TRU programs in 2010.
To settle the case, Marquez Brothers International, Inc. agreed to the $48,250.00 penalty and to comply with TB and other ARB programs.
