Manuel Parea Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $7,500
In February 2014, Manuel Perea, Inc. agreed to pay $7,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $5,625.00 to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $1,875.00 for the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Manuel Perea Trucking, Inc. failed to bring two of their vehicles into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Statewide Truck and Bus regulation. To settle the case, Manuel Perea Trucking, Inc. agreed to the $7,500.00 penalty and to comply with all applicable ARB regulations.
