Main Street Produce, Inc./Freshway Farms, LLC Case Settles for $10,250
Main Street Produce, Inc./Freshway Farms, LLC will pay $10,250.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was reached in October 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that MAIN STREET PRODUCE, INC./FRESHWAY FARMS, LLC failed to bring two of their heavy-duty diesel trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, MAIN STREET PRODUCE, INC./FRESHWAY FARMS, LLC agreed to the $10,250.00 penalty and to comply with PSIP, TB, and other ARB programs.
