CARB has verified Lubrizol Engine Control Systems PuriNOx^TM and AZ Purimuffler^TM or AZ Purifier^TM System for 1996 through 2002 diesel engines used in off-road applications specifically at the ports, railway yards and other intermodal / freight handling operation applications only. The PuriNOx^TM and AZ Purimuffler^TM or AZ Purifier^TM System uses a diesel oxidation catalyst and an emulsified diesel fuel to achieve a 50 percent reduction in particulate matter emissions qualifying it for a Level 2 verification. The system also achieves a 20 percent reduction in NO_x emissions. Specific engine families and conditions for which the PuriNOx^TM and AZ Purimuffler^TM or AZ Purifier^TM System has been approved may be found below.
