Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Case Settles for $54,900.00
In December 2012 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power agreed to pay $54,900.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $41,175.00 will go to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $13,725.00 will go to the Peralta Community College District.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Los Angeles Department of Water and Power failed to install legally required emission-reduction devices by applicable compliance dates. ARB documented violations as they related to the Fleet Regulation for Public Agencies and Utilities (PAU), and Emission Control Label (ECL) Program. To settle the case, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power agreed to the $54,900.00 penalty and to comply with the Fleet Regulation for Public Agencies and Utilities, Emission Control Label Program, and other ARB programs.
