Lerma Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $21,100
Lerma Trucking, Inc. will pay $21,100.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $10,550.00 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $10,550.00 will go to the School Bus Retrofit Project to retrofit school buses throughout California with diesel emission control strategies. This settlement was reached in March, 2017.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Lerma Trucking, Inc. failed to bring four of their trucks into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and bring eight of their transport refrigeration units (TRUs) into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the TRU Airborne Toxic Control Measure, and the Truck and Bus (TB) Regulation. To settle the case, Lerma Trucking, Inc. agreed to the $21,100.00 penalty and to comply with, TRU, TB, and other ARB programs.
