Legend Trucking, LLC and Queen Trucking, LLC Settles For $47,363
In January 2025, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement with Legend Trucking, LLC and Queen Trucking, LLC (Legend Trucking) with its principal location in Humboldt, Kansas, for the company’s violation of the Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program (HD I/M Regulation), or Clean Truck Check Program (CTC Program) as it is known, under California Code of Regulations, title 13, sections 2195-2199.1.
During a truck stop check conducted by CARB staff on one truck, it was documented that Legend Trucking had tampered with the emission control components in the truck, resulting in the violation. To settle the case, Legend Trucking agreed to a suspended penalty of $47,363 and agreed to keep the tampered truck out of California unless and until it is brought fully into compliance with all California rules and regulations.
Terms of the settlement require Legend Trucking to provide a passing CTC Program test, undergo a CTC Program referee inspection, and comply with all other laws to operate their fleet in California in the future.
