Lamanco Incorporated Case Settles for $9,500
In September 2014, Lamanco Incorporated paid $9,500.00 in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $7,125.00 went to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality; $2,375.00 went to the Peralta Colleges Foundation to fund emission education classes conducted by participating California community colleges, under the California Council for Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET) program.
An investigation by the Air Resources Board (ARB) showed that Lamanco Incorporated failed to bring their on-road diesel fleet into compliance with the applicable in-use performance standards and failed to properly self-inspect their diesel trucks to assure the trucks met state smoke emission standards. ARB documented violations as they related to the Periodic Smoke Inspection Program (PSIP) and the Statewide Truck & Bus (STB) regulation. To settle the case, Lamanco Incorporated agreed to the $9,500.00 penalty and to comply with the PSIP and STB programs.
