Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures
Contact
The laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) are documents that describe the steps necessary to conduct a measurement and the critical parameters to be evaluated during the analysis. SOPs set out detailed steps that implement the general guidance of the quality control manual (QCM)(Revision 5.0, Effective date: 12/07/2021). SOPs are written such that a chemist or laboratory technician with experience in the particular analytical technique can follow the procedure and obtain the same result as another similarly trained chemist. The SOPs are specific to the California Air Resources Board Northern Laboratory Branch laboratories because they describe the actual instrumentation and equipment used. Mention of specific equipment and products do not constitute endorsement or recommendation for use by the California Air Resources Board.
SOPs have been written for each method used by the California Air Resources Board to generate data for record. The listed SOPs are used by the California Air Resources Board Northern Laboratory Branch laboratories to analyze ambient air samples, consumer products, and composite wood.
The listed documents and QCM can be made available upon request.
