The Kroger Co Settled For $83,640
In December 2019, the California Air Resources Board and The Kroger Co., of Cincinnati, Ohio reached a settlement agreement in the amount $83,640.00. The Kroger Co. sold, supplied, offered, and/or manufactured general-purpose cleaners for use in California, containing concentrations of volatile organic compounds (VOC) that exceeded the standards specified in title 17, California Code of Regulations (17CCR) section 94509(a). The violation resulted in 4.92 tons of excess VOC emissions. Moving forward, The Kroger Co. has stopped sales in California while they consider modifications of the product to make it compliant with the Consumer Products Regulations.
