Korkyra Shipping, Ltd. Case Settles for $55,500

Korkyra Shipping Ltd. has paid $55,500.00 in penalties to the California Air Pollution Control Fund, for violating air quality regulations.  This settlement was reached on January 6, 2012.  An investigation by the ARB showed that the Korkyra Shipping Ltd. vessel Lady Racisce, failed to properly complete switchover for its Main Engines from Heavy Fuel Oil over to Low-Sulfur Distillate Fuel upon entry into Regulated California Waters.  To settle the case, Korkyra Shipping Ltd. agreed to the $55,500.00 penalty and to comply with ARB regulations.
