Kings River Trucking, Inc. Case Settles for $2,000
Kings River Trucking, Inc. will pay $2,000in penalties for violating air quality regulations: $2,000 will go to the Air Pollution Control Fund, which provides funding for projects and research to improve California's air quality. This settlement was signed by Kings River Trucking, Inc. on June 26, 2018.
In 2018, Kings River Trucking, Inc. contacted the Enforcement Division and disclosed that they had failed to meet PM BACT requirements for two vehicles with 1999 model year engines by January 1, 2012 as required by the Truck and Bus Regulation as codified in California Code of Regulations, title 13, section 2025 (13 CCR § 2025). The total penalty obtained in this case was $2,000, or $1,000 per vehicle based on the fact that this was a first time violation and Kings River Trucking, Inc. made diligent efforts to comply and to cooperate with the investigation. Since penalties assessed had already been substantially reduced, no additional reduction was given in this case based on voluntary disclosure. To settle the case, Kings River Trucking Inc. agreed to the $2,000.00 penalty and to comply with CARB programs. The vehicles have been reinstated to meet the requirements for the Truck and Bus regulation low use compliance requirements.
